The Woylie, also known as the Brush-tailed Bettong, is a small macropod (member of the kangaroo family) that was once common and widespread across much of southern Australia. After European settlement, the extensive clearing of its habitat and the impact of feral predators has severely reduced its population. The Woylie lives mainly in open forest and woodland with a dense low understory of tussock grasses and woody scrub.
